Four portraits depicting Mary Jane, Horace, Clara Belle and Elmer Rankin. Mary Jane, pictured in the upper left, and Horace, pictured in the upper right, were the children of Adam Lowry Rankin and his first wife. Clara Belle, pictured bottom left, and Elmer, pictured bottom right, were the children of Rankin and his second wife. The portraits are housed in a union case manufactured by Littlefield, Parsons & Co. On one side of the case is a relief of three children playing. On the other side is a relief of a mother and child.
